After I had a breakup with my co-partners I was left with only two blogs i.e All MsnTarGet.com. These two were my main blogs from which I had to generate revenue. I didn’t had any other blog which was generating revenue, also I stopped niche blogging as it was short term and I didn’t want to do anything for short term result. I am not saying you to stop niche blogging, I started niche blogging to make money fast, but now my primary goal is not instant income as we are already funded from Angel Investors. So, the main goal is to build some good products which can be automated.  Among these two blogs All India Youth was stuck in conspiracy for few reasons which I cannot disclose here. So, I paused working on that blog aswell. Now I was left with only one blog i.e All MsnTarGet.com from which I should generate income. Ofcourse I was running few services from which I was making money but income generated from services is not stable. It can go up and down each month.

So, after a lot of brain storming I decided to work on my own blog All MsnTarGet.com and get its rankings back to normal. After I started company I didn’t put much focus on this blog rather worked on blogs using which we can generate a system. Then I decided to use All MsnTarGet.com only for branding purpose and stopped posting articles very frequently. If you have seen past few months my article count was less before. Later I started one more blog called All India Roundup, however I knew that its gonna take some time for this blog to perform well. So, even All India Roundup was not generating any income. To grow a company exponentially we need products that last for long run. For this reason I didn’t wanted to take any shortcut by building too many links(Black Hat Techniques) which might give results instantly but the blog will be dead after a month or two. I didn’t want that to happen.

Why was All MsnTarGet.com Penalized?

During my initial days of blogging, I was not much aware of SEO. I was learning SEO step by step. In this process I came to knew that a blog with good number of links does well with Search Engine Rankings. Then I started working vigorously on link building. For god sake my link building worked. My blog was doing extremely well with almost all the keywords. I was overwhelmed and didn’t stop the link building over there. I went for few more. I also ordered a lot of gigs on Fiverr and SEOclerks which gives EDU and GOV backlinks which are considered as most powerful backlinks in the past.

After that I have stopped link building as I was already doing pretty well with several thousands of backlinks. My blog did well for few days but slowly the ranking got down day by day. That was not all of a sudden, so I was not able to notice whether that’s a penalty or due to less frequency of posting. But it was actually a penalty that has been triggered on my blog i.e Penguin.

I had one more hit along with the penguin i.e my blog was deleted by blogger and I made a shift to wordpress. During the migration process I lost many articles resulting in lot of 404 and broken links.
  • Find out which Algorithmic change has lead to penalty on your site.

How did I Boost My Ranking?

Most of the people might think that my blog rankings is due to my content but that’s not the case. I do implement some advanced SEO strategies to keep up my blog with the competition.

Links are good but too many of them is Bad:

Backlinks were the reason why my blog ranked well. At the same time, the same backlinks lead to penalty. If you have links its good but too many links is bad these days. Its not about how many links you have but the quality of links are the key. You can get some links from whatever place you want and boost your rankings but the results you get by those random links is short lived.

Link Removal Process:

I decided to remove all the links that are bad or that looked suspicious for me. For this purpose I downloaded the complete list of backlinks from ahrefs and disavowed them using the Disavow tool.

  • I also used a tool called openlinkprofiler which helps you in finding bad links to your site using the LIS(Link Influence Score).
  • You can check my article on How to Disavow Links in Google Webmaster tool.
I disavowed almost 20,000 backlinks. That was a big risk but I decided to go for it.

Once I disavowed the links the results were not instant. I had to wait for few weeks to notice the results. To be on safer side I tweaked the site a little more.

Reduced the number of Ads Above the Fold:

As we all know there is a page layout algorithm which hates sites that have too many ads on top. I decided to go ad free and display ads only the articles that get majority of traffic from search.

If you see my homepage there are no ads. As my majority of revenue comes from sponsored adverts, I decided to go ad free on majority of the articles.

Fix Broken Links:

As you all know my blog was deleted by Blogger which results in lot of 404 errors. I used a plugin for wordpress called Broken Link Checker, this automatically detects the broken links and makes it easy for us to fix them right away.

Redirecting 404 Pages:

As I said my blog was deleted by blogger, so I was left with a lot of 404 errors. To fix this I used two more plugins called Smart 404 and Redirection. Smart 404 is one of my favourite plugins which automatically redirects to relevant pages whenever it comes across a 404 page.

Updating all the Old Articles:

Few of my old articles were outdated. Decided to update all of them. Updated all the old articles one by one with the help of my editorial team.

After I have made all the changes I waited for about 10 days and was hoping that things might work. Eventually the strategies which I implemented worked out for me. My rankings boosted back in Google. The main reason for the blog getting a hit was the Penguin due to bad backlinks. However, currently we are no more working on link building instead putting more efforts on Content Marketing.

These days we also noticed a lot of negative SEO on popular sites that are doing well with Search Rankings, all you have to do is just disavow those links and everything would be fine. Let me know your thoughts on the same in your comments.

While some aspects of writing may never change, one thing is for sure; blogging is the main way to get your name out there and build a following. Moreover, it isn’t exactly easy. No different than writing a book or play or any other piece of writing, reaching the level of skill the experts from the past and present possess isn’t easy. If you go into the challenge of writing a blog without the determination to follow through and take it seriously, you’ll never make it anywhere.

Internet famous Neil Patel is considered one of the most influential bloggers around, and he knows that it isn’t easy better than anyone. These tips come straight from the man himself, advising all bloggers new and experienced in how to improve their writing.

5 Tips from a Top Blogger: How to Write Better?

1. Brainstorming is Key

As a successful blogger, Neil Patel knows that the most vital aspect is getting the attention of your readers, and keeping it. And to do that, you need to produce interesting content. This is a little easier said than done; after all, if creative and intriguing ideas occurred to everyone without any effort, a lot more people would be writers already. Much like writing an academic paper, writing down any ideas that occur to you is extremely important. Not only does this ensure you won’t forget any of them, but it also guarantees that you’ll put more thought into them than if they were immediately dismissed from your mental scope.

Of course, this doesn’t mean you’ll use all of those ideas. It doesn’t even mean that they will all be good ideas. But it does mean you will have potential content to muse over and improve upon for use in your blog. It is much easier to have a list of ideas you’ve come up with than to try and think of a new one whenever you are ready to make another post.

2. Learn to tell Stories

Few people consider blog writing to be in the same vein as storytelling and books. And yet successful blog writing needs all the same elements of both to really be successful at all. When it comes to grabbing people’s attention, the most effective way to do that is to tell a story that will interest them. After, anyone can read basic information, but that’s not very intriguing. The art of storytelling, as far as your blog is concerned, is all about answering a question.

Your question may be in regards to a service you offer. Why should the audience trust your product over others? Maybe your blog is simply about a hobby you have. Why is your interest of note to your audience? Regardless of what question you are answering for those reading your blog, it is important to make sure you take the reader from Point A to Point B with an interesting narrative that will grab their attention and keep it.

3. Create an Outline

Outlines are something we generally relate to writing academic papers, but an outline is important for blogging as well, especially if you have yet to get started. One of the things that often stops people from making their first plunge into writing is not knowing how to organize their thoughts. They often think they’ll do it wrong and immediately turn away all of their potential audience. While there may be no wrong way to organize things, there’s no denying that there is definitely a most efficient way.

Admittedly, you may not be able to find out what that most efficient way is until you’ve actually put some time into blogging. However, you’ll find it much easier to get started if you try and organize an effective outline prior to starting. If you already have a solid idea of how you should organize your thoughts or your blog in general, you’ll do away with a little bit of that trepidation that tends to stop most people from even starting.

4. Learn from Others

Perhaps one of the greatest pieces of advice Neil Patel gives is exactly what you are doing here; learning from other writers. Experiencing the skills and products of other individuals in your craft is a great way to see the diversity of it, and to pick up on not only the good aspects of other writers but also their bad parts. The more you read the work of other writers, the more attuned you will become to the pros and cons of different writing styles.

The fact of the matter is, the more you take in, the more you can refine and push out. Be sure to keep up with other successful bloggers, read more articles from the web, and even tackle some books. There’s a lot to learn from simple observation.

Of course, Neil had a lot more to say, and we can’t fit it all here.

5. Outside Writing Assistance

While it is generally best to do things yourself, it’s not a bad business to hire other people to work in your stead. There is a perfect place you can go to get professional custom writing assistance for a very reasonable price. You can enlist their help in all sorts of writing, and having more help from a professional group is never something to scoff at, even at a cost.

How To Write SEO-Friendly Blog Post, Article, Product Description – In the past days, low quality keyword-rich contents could get ranked well with less effort. In fact, following spam methods, one could be successful very easily. But now the search engines are growing smart. They intend to show only relevant results on their search engines. Concerning about the matter, the search engine sensation ‘Google’ is rolling out many algorithm updates regularly. They started to filter their search results from December, 2000 but I think the most significant year for them is 2013. Till 19 August, 2013 the ‘Panda’ and ‘Penguin’ updates were effectively rolled out to hit upon website results with low quality contents and spam backlinks.

SEO (full form Search Engine Optimisation) is a game changer in Digital Marketing. Finding user intent and satisfying the website visitor should be the number one priority of publishers. Why? because it already is a number one priority of BIG GOOGLE. A few months earlier, Google reported that it has given publishers billion dollars in revenues using Google Adsense, which is just a part of Google income. Thus, to rank higher in Google, a blog post has to be User-Friendly, only then a good number of visitors can be received on a website which further leads to more revenue from the Google Adsense.

But in 20th August the same year, a new Google algorithm update ‘Hummingbird’ tingled all the search results. After every 3 or 4 months, a new update reveals to filter search results. It is almost unbelievable that many popular sites lose approx 90%-100% of their traffic instantly just because of these algorithm changes. So, the question is how to do proper SEO to prevent algorithm updates of all time? When it is about blog posts, how should we optimize these? I am actually not a search engine expert but I will advise to go naturally. Here I will focus on the major areas of blog posts that should be naturally optimized to beat Google updates.

The Major 7 Areas Where Blog Posts Need to Be Improved For Better Ranking Preventing Google Algorithm Updates

The Google webspam team intends to finish up spam and black hat tricks from their search engine. So, it would be 100% safe to naturally do a blog posting. The algorithm changes are to aware all the optimizers that quality matters. So, these tactics should be applied to cut a good result still doing a little SEO:

1.Proper Keyword or Niche Selection:

To get ranking, first of all we have to concentrate on the keyword. Again the relevancy matters, the keyword has to be according to your site niche. Because Google avoids irrelevant contents as well. As an example, if you have a technology based blog, generally there would be news about tech, computer, internet, freeware etc. A technology site with news and updates of health, meditation seems really irrelevant. That is certainly going to be punished by Google. So, make sure you choose a proper niche for your blog post. And for getting relevant keyword suggestions, you could use the keyword research tools. The keyword competitiveness has to match your site authority and page rank. A high competitive keyword would work effectively on a blog with high page rank and domain authority. But if you choose a high competitive keyword for your new blog having less authority and page rank, I would say, it is such as waste of time.

2.Keyword Rich Content Title:

The best place to targeted keywords is content title. Here you should try to include your keywords with keeping the title click worthy. It should be attractive enough to force readers to click on it as well as keyword rich. So, this type of title will fulfill your two purposes. First purpose: It will be looked like a great content for readers not for search engines. Second purpose: For being keyword included, it will help you to rank for your specific keyword. And it will be helpful if we could place the keyword at the beginning of the title if possible.
Title is the crucial factor and the amount of traffic you get to your blog via search engines or social media is highly dependent on your Title of the post.Make sure its well optimized and cachy to draw users attention. The ideal number of characters in a title is 70-80.

3.Writing Quality Content:

It always seems as a proverb that ‘Content is King’. I also believe in it because high quality contents are earnestly welcomed by search engines and readers. Do you know that sometimes a great content without optimization could rank for competitive keywords? However, it depends on domain authority but it is really possible. That’s why we should be focused on the quality. If you could produce a content with both quality and optimization, it is sure to get ranking ASAP.

4.Meta Tags For Search Engines:

Meta tags are the elements that help the search engines to know what the content is. There are two important tags ‘Meta Title and Meta Description’. There is a third one name ‘Meta Keywords’, but this one is now avoided by all search engines. The first two are must but I think, providing more information than required is not a bad practice. So, if we provide all of these threes, it will be great. Please keep in mind the Meta Title should contain less than 60 characters and Meta Description should contain less than 160 characters. Because these are the Meta character limits whose support in almost all search engines. One important thing that we have to include our keywords both in Meta Title and Meta Description. There is no limit for Meta Keywords but it is effective to have only 2 or 3.
Meta Description for search is a must factor to rank well in search engines for targeted keywords.I would recommend you to use 200 characters for meta description.

5.Maintain The Safe Keyword Density:

It is a common fault where we always fall. Some people believe that using keywords again, again and again will boost his keyword ranking. But after Google updates, these types of work will be looked like keyword stuffing or keyword spamming. In a result, the site could get a penalty or decrease in his ranking. So, we must maintain a safe keyword density and it should be between 2%-3%. Instead of using a keyword many times, we can use synonyms which are called LSI keywords. These keywords will make the content delightful to read and however, it helps to rank for many keywords.

6.Optimize Images:

Images are one of the best SEO elements where we can safely place a keyword. In the image Alternative Tag or ALT Tag, we should include keywords and also maintaining a quality. That will make the image search engine optimized which would be a great advantage for SEO.
  • Do check how to optimize Images properly.

7.Use of Heading Title Tags:

In SEO content, we can get the highest advantage from the heading tags like H1, H2, H3 etc. But, we should learn perfectly how to use it. Just divide your content into paragraphs and make titles with H1, H2, H3 etc. And don’t forget to include keywords in the heading. Because the search engines give the important most to the H1 and H2 heading title tags. So, the larger contents will be easy to read, the readers will be able to learn which part of the content provide which types of information. But make sure, you use only one H1 tag because there is a limit for having one H1 for one page. But you can use H2-H6 tags for multiple times. But for keeping quality, it is recommended to use the minimum number of heading tags.

Final Words About Writing SEO Blog Post:

If having any queries related to How To Write SEO-Friendly Blog Post, Article, Product Description, please make sure to comment below. A successful blogger always leads the natural quality of writing SEO blog post. So, my advice is, first think about quality and then do SEO. Because the content will be read by human readers. So, always care about your readers not about search engines. If your content could make your readers happy, it will be enough to impress the search engines. And that is the key to beat all Google updates.

10 Tips for Writing SEO Friendly Blog Posts

So, now that you have a better understanding of what is an optimized blog post and what is not, let’s see how to ensure (before you hit the publish button), that your blog will be SEO friendly.

1. Think before you start writing

The content should be attractive enough so that the readers can directly link their needs with your article. And purpose of the article should be clear and also write what should be the user is going to have at the end of the article. They should know the complete gist of your article in one shot so that they read the whole article with interest.

2. Create the structure of the blog post

The next step is to write down the structure of your blog post. By structure we mean to define the different parts of the post.

Splitting a blog post into various parts, can make writing easier. It’s faster and more efficient to write 200 words to cover a specific part of the post, rather than trying to write larger sections.

HINT: This is particularly useful when you don’t have the time to finish the post in one sitting. Once you have the structure ready, you can work on the different parts independently of each other without needing a lot of time to re-generate your focus and organize your thoughts.

3. Craft the title and URL

seo guidelines for blog post titles

The next step is to decide about the title of your blog post and the URL.

I know that some bloggers prefer to do this step first and then create the blog structure, but I found that it’s easier to come up with the title once you have a good idea of what the post will cover.

If you feel that you need to work on the title first and then the blog structure, then by all means follow what is more efficient for your case.

Writing a good and interesting title, is a very important step for SEO purposes and user friendliness.

A good title should have the following characteristics:
  • Has a character length between 55-60 so that it is shown without breaks in the SERPS.
  • It includes your target keyword (but not keyword stuffed)
  • It accurately describes the content of the blog post
  • It is interesting to make users click your entry when displayed in the search engines results pages.

4. Use headings correctly

A well optimized blog post, follows these rules when it comes to headings:

There is only one h1 tag on the page – This is usually the same as the <title> of the post, although it doesn’t have to be the same.

5. Keep your paragraphs short

Don’t just through large paragraphs on a page and hit the publish the button.

There is a good possibility that the majority of your readers are on mobile so make it easy for them to read the content.

6. Add links when it makes sense

Whenever you write a new piece, try to ‘associate it’ with already published blog posts on your blog, by adding internal links.

. Do make use of keywords (but not keyword stuffing)
Having your target keywords (and variations) in your blog posts will not get you into trouble, in fact it is recommended to do so.

As I mentioned in the beginning of this post, what is not recommended is keyword stuffing.

8. Optimize the length of your blog post

Studies have shown that longer posts perform better in search and they tend to receive more likes and mentions in social media.

While this is true, it does not mean that shorter posts will not rank well. What is more important is the quality of the content and not the quantity.

You should understand that when writing a blog post for a particular topic, you are in essence competing with hundreds of other posts that are already published about the same topic.

9. Optimize your meta description

In point 3 above, I have talked about optimizing the Title and URL of a post; it is equally important to optimize your meta description.

The description tag is a summary of the post in less than 156 characters. Google may choose to show your description in the results so it has to be informative and interesting to encourage users to click your link and visit your blog.

10. Optimize your images and other media elements

Images, graphs, infographics, videos, statistics and other media elements, make a blog post more interesting to read and enhance the quality of the content.

Although Google has made it clear that they cannot yet understand the context of an image or video (while crawling a page), yet many webmasters fail to follow the rules of making their images SEO optimized.

How to write SEO friendly blog

SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is one of the important factors which directly affect the ranking of any blog in search engine. Many bloggers basically don’t care about SEO; they just go with the flow like they choose search engine responsive theme and publish their article.

Higher search engine raking not only depend on the blog theme, but it majorly depends on the title of the blog post. It may happen that some of your articles are popular and some are not.

Analyzing the keyword of the article

Analyzing the keyword is basically the first step to write SEO friendly titles. You can find the titles by yourself or many online tools are available for making this task easier and smoother.

When you use any of the tools, and probably check the competitions number of results appears. After analyzing you will come to know what should be the keyword for getting more blog traffic.

Structure of your blog

You should create a proper structure like in the beginning introduction should be powerful enough and the body with full description and lastly the conclusion. The structure is something you must keep in mind after keyword selection.

 Make use of paragraph

In most of the blogs we have seen that many paragraphs are there and every paragraph state the similar thing, you should avoid these only use paragraphs that state something new. It means every paragraph should state something new. There should be a reason for making new paragraph. You should analyze what is the main idea of each paragraph. You should be able to grasp the idea in single sentence.

 Make use of headings

Heading is the most important part because they are important for readability but at the same time SEO. Heading helps any search engine to grasp the long content and thus increase your ranking. If you want individuals to find their way in your blog you can also add subheadings. Subheadings will help individuals to scan your article and make the entire structure cleaner.

Make sure that the keywords which I have described in the start should be the part of subheading.

Make use of signal words

Signal words help to grasp the idea of nay article in a quick shot. No can get the main idea by the word itself. Signal words should be promising so that user can get involved in the article.

 Knowledge gathering

Let other people read your post before publishing. Discuss about the post and work based on the feedback received.

Length of the article should be compact

Your article should be qualitative not quantitative, it means article should not be too long It might get scare users. And use the search term 3 to 6 times in your article.

Add the content on daily basis

Adding regular content in your blog might help you to sustain your page ranking to a great extent.
